Part One: Get Attention Deficit Dis (Organized)
Part Two: Hyperactive Goal Creation
Hopefully, many of you have gone through the first two exercises, and are with me thus far. You most likely discovered things about yourself, your goals, as well as found your biggest hurdles. For me, the biggest thing to stand out is that I have way too much going on at once! Sure ... this is common for a person with adhd, but at the same time, it truly is my biggest hurdle.
I've spent the last few days contemplating how to deal with this. Which brings me to something I think is important to say. You're not always procrastinating! It's important to improve ourselves, but we must be careful in what arbitrary labels we put on ourselves. A person with adhd often takes longer to absorb the information they've taken in, and as an adder, I can also say with confidence that we assess things from a wider perspective. I am of the belief that this is a positive trait, and something that shouldn't be "changed".
Being in a rush may complete projects quicker, but "quicker" usually comes at the expense of quality.
Knowing just how much I really have on my plate, brings me to our next step - What can I eliminate, and how can I get the rest of it done? I'll be putting a few of my ideas together today, and I'll let you know what appears to be the best solution.
Stay tuned ...
